Berlinetta/ 4” cowl Induction, or stinger hood

Anyone on third gen have a berlinetta with a 4” cowl induction hood, or a stinger hood. I have an 82 berlinetta and I want ether the cowl or stinger hood but I would like to see what they would look like on a berlinetta. I’ll have some pics of her soon I just need to get some pics scanned first. Thanks guys

not quite a berlinetta, but an 87 LT (replaced the berli) w/ a 3" cowl hood from Champion Fiberglass Products.

hey mw66nova where did you get the hood, how much was it , hows the quality , and is it a bolt on hood or did you just add the pins ? My dads friend has an 82 maro and wants a cowl hood and wants one that has the back angle towards the windshield like yours . Thanks for any info .

http://championfiberglassproducts.com/

ended up being around $425 shipped to the door

quality is good. it's not the best hood on the market, but the price was right. it's VERY straight, and i didn't need to adjust much at all to get it installed properly. overall i am extremely pleased with it. it is a bolt on, but i didn't like how it kinda flopped in the wind at 85+ mph, and since i trap in the 98-101mph range, i decided it was a good idea, and i think the look neat.

totally, 3" is perfect, any bigger and it'd be overkill

i plan on buying a cowl hood for my camaro after i get my new engine in, thats more important right now though i'm thinking i will probably get about a 4" harwood lift-off, because its like $150 more for a bolt on.

if you street drive your car at all, you'll think that the lift off is the coolest thing in the world till you get stranded out in the middle of no-where by yourself. i wouldn't suggest doing that. mine was $300 for the hood from www.championfiberglassproducts.com those guys over there are killer and super nice. if your closer to Ohio than i am, yours will be cheaper to ship. if you can ship to a business, you'll be even better off. trust me, get the bolt on.

Mark A Shields....

Stinger is the real name for whats sold today as the "big block" hood

Maybe stringer name is copy righted by GM or something, but the glass hoods for camaros with that style scoop is known as the "big block" hood.

That design was used on the 1967 427 big block corvettes,

Ford also make a copy close to it. There's didnt have the front point deal on it like the vette's stinger though and it was known as the corba jet scoop
