82-92 3pc spoiler changes over the years

I'm looking to get a 'normal' 3pc camaro rear spoiler. When looking at used ones....did any changes take place over the years? Other than the 3rd brake light? Some years better than others?
thanks in advance,
Nate

87-89 (I believe) has the third brake light and the nice stretched out look. The other years were more like a little rim around the tail lights.

The '90 had the 3rd brake light as well. Other than that nothing really changed. I am searching junk yards for one of the side pieces that goes on the qaurter. I have found ones on all years that would work fine. Price kept me from buying any though.

So if it has the 3rd light it's also the larger spoiler...anyone know that for certain? I'm looking at an 86 w/ the 3rd brake light.
thanks

An 86 doesnt have a third brake light..all 86 camaros had the third brake light on the exterior of the hatch glass.

The 87-90 spoiler is a little deeper because of the 3rd brake light.

82camaro: If it's a stock 86 with original spoiler, it would be the smaller (82-86, 91/92) spoiler... the 3rd brake light will be on the leading edge of the glass (by the roof).

I don't know about that. My '90 spoiler isn't that tall at all and it seems as if the light was tweaked in there.

OK, so they 'say' it's from an 86' but it must be an 87' because it does have the 3rd brake light in the spoiler.
I appreciate the help.

Well it could be an 87-90 or an 85 as 85s have them as well...

I know there is a difference in the height . Between The Spoiler on my 91rs and 90 IROC. The rs was shorter in height been awhile but it was like 1/2 an inch. I thought they were the same but was surpised when i had them side by side.

OK, so is the 85 the exact same as the 87-89 spoiler. I just want to be sure about the one I'm bidding on.
thanks

The center piece bolts on easily, using the stock holes. Unfortunatly the holes for the end pieces are in slightly different locations.

I swapped an 85 spoiler onto my 87 Camaro & the end pieces didn't mach up... I believe I had to elongate the holes
