Ok, in Ohio, you need to have a front plate on your car. My 89 IROC doesn't have any where to mount one, so I was wondering where, how you guys have mounted it. I am thinking it would look ridiculous anywhere but in the center, but then again, I would be covering up the "Camaro" in the center.... What do you guys think? What have you guys done?

screw that, i have it on the bottom left side of my windshield (inside) cause i didn't want to put it in the front either. i got pulled over by a cop once for that but he just gave me a warning.

If you look at your grill, around where it says "Camaro" it has 4 indentations. If you buy the GM plate holder, it will screw into those indentations.

I'm supposed to have a plate too, but somehow my front grill managed to survive 15 years without getting holes poked in it, so I'll be damned if I'm going to be the one to put holes in it.

Dear Daniel, just to let you know, I got busted for the front plate while I was parked. The worst part was a cop told me to put the plate in the window. When I told the court, they just laughed at me.

Good luck though!!

hey stinger, thanks for the warning.

so how much did you end up paying? or did you get a "fix up" ticket, or whatever you call it......

you know what i've seen. some camaro owner actually drilled holes on the front spoiler to put the plate there! that's crazy! and looks ugly too!

hey, i got a plate holder you can buy off of me, but I live in ohio and have never had a problem. I know it is the law, but go driving some day and tell me how many people actually do have plates...i would bet one in every 6 cars is missing the front plate, at least thats how it is around here. I took my grille off my rs and put a z-28 one on. I have been pulled over for it, but I just told the cop that there is no way for me to put a plate there, that the car came like that. I got out of that ticket, those cars did come from the factory that way after all. Bye the way, I have never ever seen a new corvette with front plates on them and there are plenty of new vettes in my area, they never get in trouble. I think if you get pulled over just explain it to the cop and he will let you go if you don't **** him off. Too bad I couldn't think of an explanation when the cop asked me about my tinted windows or my headlight blackouts.

It was just a fix-it ticket, and only $10, but it still pissed me off. What made me even more angry, was there was a Honda, just on the other side of the driveway behind me, that had the plate in the window just like me. Why did he not get a ticket? Well, maybe this is why:

As stated earlier, there are markings around where it says Camaro in the front grill area however where I live in NY you are also required to have a front plate but how many Corvettes do you see with front plates? It looks alot nicer without the plate so I keep mine in the backseat and was only pulled over once for it about 2 years ago. My excuse was the car was in an accident and the new holder is on order but showed him the plate in the backseat. No ticket for that but I did get an expired inspection ticket, figures I had to get pulled over.

even better story. when I just got my camaro, the guy had the front plate off but had the plate and holder in the back seat. my mom wanted me to put it on but I didn't want to so she had me got to the police station and ask if I HAD to have it on. of course they said yes so to make her happy I put it on, already had the holes drilled and everything. when I did my engine swap, I took it right back off and the plate now resides under my seat. after almost 6 months, never have been pulled over or anything

Many F Body owners here in Texas mount the front plate on the air dam underneath
The guys I know that have done this havent had any problems with cops. It's my understanding that the law states you must have a 'forward-facing license plate' on the car.
