GTA Wheels
Does anyone have any good tips for polishing GTA wheels? The wheels are in good shape, but they just look dry because I've never polished them. What kind of polish works best and how is the best way to do it.

I don't think you can just polish them, I tryed on my extra set with Mothers polish but didn't accomplish anything, evidently you need to strip them first like Iroc wheels. No matter, I'm going to repaint the center's anyway.
You can polish them with the clearcoat intact. I did it on mine, and they look like chrome.
heres what I did
1)Use a good wheel cleaner, like the Eagle One A to Z wheel cleaning foam, and spray it down, let it sit for a minute, then hose off
That will get the outer layer of **** off the wheel surface
2) spray some more of it on there, this time use a shop towel and rub it onto the wheel.. you will get all **** off it this way. Hose it down again.
3) Use 'Never Dull' on the outer ring and in between each crosslace spoke.. this is time consuming, figure at least an hour per wheel
4) Next, I used one of those clay bars meant for paint (since it is clearcoat paint on there). I used a Mothers' claybar. Worked real good, took any remaining traces of **** off the wheel
5)Mothers' Metal Polish. It comes in a small cylindrical can. Yes, you are polishing clearcoat, but I SWEAR this works. This step is the icing on the cake, it made my wheels look chrome
6) Finally, use a good wax, like Eagle One Wet Look or Zaino or what have you, to seal in the goodness.
It worked for me, it will work for you too.

Hey all,
I'm going to receive a set of Black GTA wheels in the next couple of days. It has taken over three months of calling, hounding, and yelling to get them shipped out. So, with all the trouble I've had, I can only think the wheels will be in the worst condition possible.
Has anyone painted the centers? I'm sure it has been done. I just want to know the details of doing it. Like, type of paint, etc... Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
John

I have polished alot of wheels in the past. the first step, if your serious in to remove the clear. Gasket remover works great-just avoid any painted areas. Second it to use a good polish. Up here in Canada the is a product called "Autosol" It's the best metal polish I have used. You could try mounting some sort of wheel on a drill or just elbow grease. And lastly a good coat of wax cant hurt!!
Good luck
