body colored door handles?

shaving the handles isn't an option because of NHRA rules says you have to have them to race, but i was wondering if body colored handles would look right on a white car.

opinions on the matter please.

Body colored door handles look crappy. Keep em black. Black on white looks great.

Get some flush mounted handles from the junk yard then paint them body colored.

What about chrome handles? That might go good with the white, and blend in a little more than the black. I think they come in chrome...

yup there are some afternarket ones that are chrome. I dont think it would look bad with body colored. The chrome would probably look best.

I've always thought the exact same thing whenever I see them body color.

I thought the same thing until I found some 4thgen handles at the JY recently without the little indentation on the handle. I'd rather have some flush handles from a 97 subary legacy but these will do for now.

I'll second that. I have a black car so my door handles are already body color

i don't know about you guys, but i really hate chrome. even my irocs won't be getting a full polish. probably hit them with some sos pads for the "machined" aluminum look.

looks like they will probably end up black though. (handles that is)

There's a little more to it than "getting them" and "painting them". You forgot the welding, grinding, filling... I have a whole page on my CarDomain site dedicated to the process.

well, i went out and picked up some fourth gen handles today. they were $5 a pop so i said, "alright". i got them on the new rs and i really like the way they look, and i think that i will have my painter do them up white with the rest of the car. hey, it's only 4 little nut things total to pull these two things off, so i can paint them black if i don't like them for some reason. just kinda trying to make them blend a bit, and i think that having the fourth gen handles will help accomplish this easier then the thirdgen handles.

It's amazing how well they blend in with these cars. Just by not having that indentation in the outer face they look a million times better. I can almost stand these until I get some flushmounts.

I bought the deck spoiler and side pieces seperately. When i brought them together at paint time, the side pieces where about 1.5" too short. I had no money left over to buy a matching set of sides, and the center section from the parts car i got the sides from was wrecked. So I just used the tall center section on it's own. I've cought flack from every camaro guy in the city, but I kinda like it being different.

Paint is Single stage Black Saphire metallic (close to midnight blue, shimmers green and purple in the sunlight, looks black at night)
