how any one used "the absorber" before?

i am looking for a good way to dry my car. I have a chamois right now, but it doesn't do much good. Their ads say it doesn't scratch the paint or anything, but I was wondering how well it worked at drying the car off.

I am moving this to the "Appearance" forum. I think you will get a better response there.

I won one as a door prize at a cruise night. I tried it on my daily driver first. Having done so I would not use it on my 67 firebird show car. I find it is TOO absorbent and sticky. I feel like it sticks to the paint and risks scratching it. I haven't actually SEEN any scratches, it just seems like it would - and I won't risk it on my 67 (see attached).

So to summarize, I like it enough for my daily driver. For a fancy paint job I prefer nice soft diapers (for the car, not me). I also use my vacuum cleaner in reverse to blow the water out of the seams.

I've used the absorber for years, and as long as you don't get it full of dirt, it will never scratch your paint. It is super absorbent and extremely good at removing water without any streaks. Just use some smarts and don't clean out the inside of your wheel wells and stuff like that, and it'll stay clean. You can also rinse it off if it does pick up some dirt. It's bar-none the best product I've used so far for drying off my car. I'm going to try one of those huge silicone squeegees this summer. I think a combination of both will work the best.

I have the absorber too. I think it works well, and I havent gotten any scratches. As Jim said he wants to go with one of those silicone squeegies. I like that too, but it only works well on flat surfaces. I would recomend both. The squeegie is by Auto Dry Blade. It was I think $15 at the Englishtown raceway swap meet a few years back.

The absorber is just like anything else you'd touch your car with... if you get it dirty yeah it can cause damage. I have 2 sponges, and two absorbers... one of each is used on the bottom sides of the car and on the beaters... the other two are used only on the nicest cars and the top sides... this keeps the dirt on the bottom of the car where it most likely won't cause damage but if it does it won't be noticable.
