It makes your car look like it's got a fat lower lip.
Just touch up the scrapes with the closest color you can find, and from a few feet away nobody will ever notice it.

However, one thing I would do, is get rid of that rake that your car has.
Cut 1/4-1/2 a coil off the rear springs. It would look 100% better.
Oh, and if you are going to do anything with your GFX, I say 91-92 GFX FTW.

bad idea to cut springs, seriously. you cant tell exactly how far down to cut. its just not good stuff. if your gonna lower your car, buy a kit.

it is a lowering kit (Eibach prokit).....and several people on here have cut their springs....if you take the time to index them properly, you'll cut both springs evenly

you know, I had thought the same thing.....but I really dont want to order 2 new boyd rims...especially in larger sizes since he's become a money-****.......it'll have to wait til after I get an R1
....$725 a rim on sportruck.com for 20x9.5....Im sure with some asking around I could get a 19x10 made....they dont even offer hotrods in 18x10 anymore and thats what I have on mine.....so confusing...so expensive

i did mine the other day i think it looks pretty good im getting the car repainted which is one of the reasons i did it b/c i wasnt worried about messing it up. but when i taped it off and then pulled the tape up it peeled more clear coat up. but here is a couple pics so you can get a feel for it. let me know if you think i should keep it like that when i repaint it.

A great compromise... A bit more subtle than the full out widemouth mod, and I think it looks a bit better with more "chin" on the front spoiler like that. Along with the grille, and the black buckets, I'm sure you'll get the black accents your looking for, without changing the appearance of the car much, while still giving it a slightly more aggressive look, that still coincides with the smoothness of your ride overall.
Your car is actually my favorite thirdgen I've ever seen, along with Sickness' black one with the SS hood running a close second.
They're just done right. Period. Nothing too radical, they're clean, crisp, and aggressive.
I think I'm going to give my car that rake that you have, but a little less pronounced. I had taller tires on the rear of my car for awhile, and I loved the look. Maybe I'll go with a slightly taller rear tire when I get new rims next summer.

Another thought
Maybe a black pinstripe above the ground effects would help with the black accents you're looking for also.
Or a couple really thin ones (I've always liked multiple thin ones more than a fat one)
I think that would look sexy as hell, haha

ok
Find the smallest, i.e. thinnest fog lights or driving lights, and put them on each side, i.e. underneath the regular driving lights. Make a Photoshop thingy to see what I mean.

leave the buckets and paint that grill body colored. you dont have any other black on the outside of the car and doing that grill bodycolored would look amazing.
I've changed my mind and decided I'm gonna be doing the "japanese lip" mod to my green car. I had originally planned to run the billet grill but when I installed it I decided it just didnt match the look of the car. So I'm gonna be running a stock black grill and that will match up with this look that I like so much. So when I get the replacement front clip w/ 91-92GFX painted I'm gonna have my friend do that black lip. Hope I'm not stepping on any toes!!!

Hey thanks! Yes I will be sticking with the same green. The front lip will be the 91-92 style, sideskirts will remain the flat IROC- style from 89, and rear bumper will be 91-92 style. I'm painting the headlight pockets body color green, and the red bowtie on the stock grill will be painted green too hehe. I'm also going to be painting the hatch and middle part of the wing the same color as the hood (black w/ green pearl). Should come out interesting!!

i think if i took the black down further it would make the spoilier look alot smaller. i think if i did it in a gloss instead of a satin it would look better too. i kinda like it so im probably going to keep it when the car gets repainted but its a very suttle mod none the less you can hardly notice it.

As soon as I can get the lower passenger door attachement, that lines up with the rocker panel, I'm painting the ground effects satin black. So we'll see how it really looks.

How bout I don't like anything about that jap camaro except the hood pins and the spoiler. First of all, you have already heard this from 50 people but the paint.......matching it will be really hard. Once you cut all that out, you still got the problem area to fix anywayz. once that piece is cut out, if it doesn't please you you gotta get a whole new spoiler. Just touch it up. All of our cars do it, but we don't decide to just chop them into pieces when it happens.

when you drop the kind of cash I did on paint you can
Ok, I'm lost. I dont understand what usamuscle892 is talking about. As far as I know this mod does not involve any cutting or modification of the lip itself. This mod is strictly painting related. Instead of painting the entire lower lip body color, you add black paint under the grill to give the illusion of the grill area being bigger. You dont cut anything.

yea I didnt understand really what he meant by cutting either.....I guess I should have stated a long while back too that I decided against the mod only because I dont think it would look right without the longer valance that the aero gfx have. Im still undecided on the buckets.....but of the few chips I have in the paint I plan on getting touched up this spring assuming my clutch replacment goes without a hitch
1badthirdgen - I love your TA....wanted a black ws6 ever since I laid eyes on one....bike is pretty sweet too

with the whole grill area blacked out, it looked like the "stay puff marshmellow man" off of ghostbusters.
just fix the blemish and throw in a t56 and a big block and be done w/ it.
car looks incredible, i'd put it in a glass case and make ppl pay to look at it.

For now I'll have to go with NO. Reason being I struck a gold mine and got the passenger side dooar panel that lines up with the rockers, and it's teal like my car, so all of a sudden black here and there doesn't sound as appealing.
