I think that everyone would be better off doing their own work that they can do with ANY paint shop. I've noticed owners always take care of their cars better than others. As for me, I let them do EVERYTHING, because I didn't have time. I had a small nasty (I repeat NASTY) dent in the top of my fender, and you can't tell it was EVER there. I wish I coulda gone with basecoat/clearcoat, but I was a little pressed for money, so I went with the integrated. Not that the others any better, I just believe maybe in the long run, it'd hold up better. About the black, my friend (his parents own the Maaco tho) had his Stang painted black there, and it looked GREAT. He actually completely changed the color, and you couldn't find a white spot (original color) on that car unless you maybe lifted the carpet.

One more thing, and I don't know how right I am about this, but I believe if you roll up w/ a clean interior and exterior, it'll show you actually CARE about your car, and they might pay a little more care to it. That's just me tho, I'm funny like that.

They told me 90 days and it's FULLY cured. I can't wax it or power wash it for that long either. And about the windows, yah, they do that. They did have a little overspray where my blinkers are, so I'd go ahead and block that off to be safe...

All I can say is that every Maaco is different. I changed the color of my car from red (to many red cars) to the Royal blue pearl metallic. Inside the doors, and engine compartment, I painted myself with flat black. A lot of the new car are like that. It looks real good too and was a lot cheaper than having them paint all those areas. I did have them paint the hatch area blue though. BTW, I had to take it back for them to fix a couple of drips but all and all for $500 it was great. I could have it repainted four times for what everybody else wanted to charge! Yes, black is very hard to get to look right and shows up every imperfection in the body and paint. I was going to get mine painted black, but was talked out of it. Good luck! They also did an excellent good on my body work. come to find out someone had wreck my car before I bought it and they had to redo that work.
