Chrome rims
Chrome rims
I bought the car with the rims already on it. They are American Racing. It appears as if there has been some type of protective coating(maybe aftermarket) put on them. Anyhow its starting to come off, BTW its like a plastic coating that flakes of in big pieces, well not all off it is lose. Anyone now how I can remove all of it, it looks like crap some there some not there. Thanks in advance
Is it ruining the chrome on the rims too or is the protective part just flaking off? If its not hurting the chrome see if you can't just get a remover to remove it then get some chrome polish and polish them up.
The chrome underneath looks great. Its just the plastic that is flaking of. Any ideas on what type of cleaner or solvent I can use to take the rest of the plastic off without hurting the chrome?
Thanks again

The best thing to do is to find a way to remove that protective coating, get the rims professionally polished and then get them powder coated clear. its the bet thing for em. the polish never fades and you only have to hose/ wipe em down, think about it never having to polish them again....... i love it i love it
