rims, polished or chrome?

I got a set of polished 17 c5 rims and my friend is geting rid of his chrome 17 c5's. Is it worth the 120 to buy them from him? They're 120 cause i'm trading him for mine. Whats the maintnance on chrome compared to polished.

Any opinions?

Any pics?, he has a c5 so i'm not sure what the diff will be and i can't mount them on my car for a test look until after the 1st of the year.

i like the look of a polished rim alot better than chrome if it is kept up and polished real nice. that is the only problem though is that they are alot harder to maintain.

GO CHROME

trust me on this.

I have had both and chrome is the way to go.

Easier to maintain, looks better and, lasts longer

Chrome! My chrome SS wheels turn plenty of heads even though the rest of the car is basically stock. Your chrome C5s ought to do the same.

Chrome for all rims! Just my opinion. I wish most of the polished rims I see on this site came in chrome. The polished rims on Kandied's car are sweet, but I really want them in chrome on my car.

I would go with polished... chrome looks nice, but at some point it will begin to flake... for polished aluminum, the sell zoop seal, it last a year or 2....

i usually like polished, but for 120 bucks and less maintenance. plus chrome would look a lot better on a small spoke wheel than one with a bunch of designs or thick spokes or just a lot of wheel in general.

chrome.

when i bought my chrome ZR1's i thought they were gonna be so hard to keep clean, but they dont hardly show brake dust at all and to clean em' up you just spray them down and squirt some cleaner on them and hose em' off again. it's that easy. they're SOO easy to clean! you'll like em' i promise

I can't tell how much better it would be as i already wash my car every week so i would probably only be putting in a few extra minutes a week. My friend just moved away too so now i will never get to test fit them and have pay for shipping. It alwost seems like it's not meant to be.Does anyone have pics on the car. I see the actual rims on ebay where i bought mine but can't tell if i will notice a now 250 dollar differece. Plus, my old chrome iroc rims began to peel and looked like hell. That makes me kind of leary. Any pics? and thanks for the responses

If they are the C5 5 Spokes, then i say keep the polished. I am in the process of hand polishing these badboys and its fairly easy, just takes a loong time to sand with the different grits. A little bit of maintenence on a polished aluminum rim is a lot better than getting them rechromed IMO. With aluminum you can just sand and polish if anything ever happens.

some guy tried telling me that my rims were chrome. haha I spent Days polishing them up and some tool tries to think he knows more about those rims than me. I bonded with those rims on those days.
