Fog/Driving Lights

I'm looking on replacing the grill on my '89 with one that has the openings for fog lights. I would like to get some driving lights for the car, what size would be good? Will aftermarket lights be hard to mount? How big is the grill openings?

Aftermarkets shouldn't be too hard to mount, and I'm sure most will fit in the stock location. But why not just search the junkyards and buy a stock set for the car?

I am doing the same thing to my 89 RS. Fourtuanlty I have a Iroc front end and the openings match perfectly with only removing a few hex screws. I haven't mounted the lights yet so I couldn't help you there. I did get the factory fog light switch from a bone yard which matches right up.

how the heck do you get the freakin' headlight switch off? I can't figure it out. I want to put in my factory headlight w/ foglight switch panel, put I can't figure it out. I wired my foglights to my parking lamps, then a wire to my switch that supplies the juice to the foglights. Therefore they are just like factory, they are only on when the lights are on, and they stay on when the hi-beams are on.

Unscrew the two torx bit screws that hold the plate on.
Pull the light switch **** out and look up under the switch you should see a little button on the bottom of the switch that has a spring on it press that button up while pulling on the light switch ****. You may have to use something like a flat screwdriver to press the button unless you have real long fingers
I hope that helsp you out some.

you might not wanna use a screwdriver, i blew a fuse doing that, use a pencil with an eraser on it and press it in with the eraser.

I just unhooked the battery before i took off the switch...i didnt want my headlights on draining the battery the whole time i worked...I used ratchet extension though the big square was a lot easier to use then a tiny screwdriver head.

I've got a set of Hella530's mounted in my grill. I had to fac up a set of mounting brackets, they actually bolt to the bottom part of the metal framework in the back. I'
ve got mine wired into my park lights, so they're protected and fused and all. Hella530's are the best aux light I've ever put on my car.
