Bull Crap...a dealer can't do an appraisal.
All they know is the blue book of the car.
You will just be wasting your time going
there.
Example...I was thinking of selling my car
last summer. The dealer would only give me
8,000 for it. I basically laughed in their
face, and listed the car for $15,000. A guy
offered to buy it, but I got cold feet.
Thus, the dealer does not give a crap about
your car, I bet you know more about your
car than they do...they don't give a rat's
*** what kind of mods you have on the car.

Hi...why are you getting your car appraised?
How rare is your car??? What kind of mods
have you done?
You can get a ballpark figure by looking at
the autotrader magazine and other cars
that are similar to yours. And the main
issue is if the market is hot for your
car.
I never had my car appraised but after doing
some investigation and finding out the
production numbers and such, I found it
was rare.
Is you car a 5-speed? That right there
makes your car more valuable, because there
are hardly any manual cars out there.
Everyone has the crappy automatic.

well the main rason i need to get it done is i want to borrow some money from the bank. they told me if the car was appraised then they would give me a cash line. and u knwo what cash can do for a car!! i just want to get the car done and the bank told me they would help me out if i got an appraisel. thats the main reason. and the insurance company for 2nd if i do get an extra loan i need it appraised for them so if anything happens god forbid but if it does my *** is covered in all directions catch my drift?
thats the main reasons!

Look in the yellow pages under Appraisers. Probably cost you 50-75 bux. Look for ones that are auto certified. Be forewarned you may not like what the guys says. 3rd gens aren't worth chit. Mine appraised at $9-10 grand. And I have almost $25 grand into and every reciept saved along with detailed pictures of the modifications done.
I had to have mine done for insurance purposes.

When I had mine appraised last year I first contacted my insurance company to see if they had any requirements. They, of course, wanted pictures of the car along with an appraisal from a certified appraiser. Some of the top body shops have a certified appraiser. Other than that do what somebody above said, check the yellow pages. I lucked out, the body shop that has done all my work for me was certified and my insurance accepted that appraisal along with my pictures to get my stated value policy.
