pic 1 and 2 i used HVAC aluminized tape on the body and the back of the center to reflect as most light as possible. other wise the light from the bulb was to focused. I used a rubber grommet around the lock to keep water out and light in.

I used a 3157 bulb which is a duel filiment bulb. I used this because i wanted to make sure that this wasn't brighter than the other bulbs that i was going to be using with my Sequential turn signals. I don't remimber the part number for the 3157 socket. I tapped into the wires for the license plate light.

I am working on a set of 84 T/A Tails and will be making the center light up. It is however much much harder as I want the design on the inside so I had to separate the front from the back and lighting is now harder. Plus the 5/8 inch wide grooves. The decals will be made in reverse to go on the inside. I got the idea from a thread about it on a 4th gen. Seems that the 4th gen people aren't going to have a monoply on this are they? I expect to have the only set of 84 Tails done similar to this.

Where did you get the "Trans Am" lettering for the stencil? I would like to do this but with a different picture on the bottom. Thanks.

I will not say you can or can't but it is much harder if possible. The bird emblem in the center is removable and replacable so it might be possible. But the center is both a front piece and a back panel so lighting becomes a lot harder to do. I have one center separated and a spare and am getting another to play with so I can see what can be done. Will not be anything quick to accomplish though.
