Will alot of dust damage the paint on my car. I left my car in my garage for a while and worked on the engine a lot so I left the hood open and a lot of dust built up on the car.

I would remove the dust by using lots of gentle water from a garden hose for example (pressure from a garden hose nossle at the most). If it's an extremely light coating of dust, a duster may be OK. But if it's heavy, a duster will quickly be "full" and the rest of the dust will scrape and damage the paint (if you have to swipe an area more than once, that's causing the damage I'm talking about). And do not use high pressure water, that too can force some of the dust particles to rub the paint.
Good luck!
