Color Sanding cost $$$ question
I was wondering how much it would cost to have a 3rd gen color sanded. I was told that my paint was a bit faded and would benefit form color sanding.
Any ideas of the cost, labor involved at a professional.

Faded paint is better to go at with a ruffer buffing compound by a proffesoina(easy to burn through paint)l or if you have at least a little idea of what you are doing just use a less agressive compound and just work on it longer. Be careful if you car is one of the years with the paint that peels easily.

If it's the stock paint, don't sand it. It's way too thin for that. If it's a newer paint job with 3 or 4 coats of clear, then search the boards and find out how to color sand yourself and save a few bucks.

if you go through with it, have a body shop do it. Sanding and buffing is definently an art...it's very easy to screw up an entire paint job. If your paint is faded (depends how bad) chances are you can just use some compounds to intensify the shine without having to sand the car.

Like mentioned above if its a factory clear coat id probably go with some meguiars diamond cut compound, then some meguiars #9 swirl remover and then wax it back up.
If its got a few coats of clear on it (not factory) id wet sand it with some 2000 grit paper. Then apply the diamond cut and swirl remover followed by some wax.
