Largest 17's ?
I am looking for new rims for my 92 firebird. I think I will run 275/20/17's on 17x9.5 with 5.5" backspace on the front but am not sure about the back. I would like to run a bigger tire and I like the centerline rims and don't want a custom offset. Will the 17x11 with 6" backspacing fit? What would be the biggest tires I could fit on those. If they don't fit, what is the biggest tires I could fit on the 17x9.5 on the rear? I might lower the front but I will probably leave the back in the air. I don't mind doing a little hammering or slight modifications to make them fit. If anyone has any pics please post them. Thanks

According to Super Chevy, you can run 17X9.5" in the rear and put a 285 on as the largest tire that will fit. I suppose you could massage the fenderwell a little to get a 17X11 to fit. If you went to a discount tire/america's tire you could find someone who may be able to get you a rim with a positive offset for the rear.
