Wanted: Tips for Touch-Up Paint
I've got some spots on my deck lid where a bird crapped when the previous owner had the car. I guess the previous owner just let it sit 'cause it has eaten through the clear.
I want to do some touch-up painting on it, but I'm kinda' scared. With enough wet-sanding, is there a chance it will come out looking better than where the clear is missing? If it improves it at all, I'm willing to try it.
Thanks!

okay I tried replying to your post and it crashed my comp... here we go again.
anyways, I basically said that sanding it wont do any good of it ate through the clear because it will still leave a discolored spot that wont look much if any better. If the clear has a look like a cracked egg shell then you might as well give up. if it's just a little smudge mark or scratch sand and polish will get it out but eggs or bird droppings usually eat the clear right off so your only option is to repaint.
