wrap around spoiler
so im looking to put a 89 wrap around style wing on my 91 bird. i found one at my local yard for 35 and is in good shape, its the rubber one. How does it come off of the car? i dont want to break it, as every other one i seen there is busted. also what would i all need to put it on my car.

They are bolted to the hatch with clips that hold them to the window. Unbolt the spoiler from the hatch and it should slide forward enought to release it from the clips. Also check out hawks third gen. I'm putting a 91 formula style fiberglass spoiler on my 86 and this is where I purchased my instilation kit to put in on my bird. If you have the base modle spoiler, be ready to drill some new holes.

You will have to drill 4 holes into your hatch plus fill in the old holes because they will show. If you order the instillation kit from hawks it will come with all the bolts, gaskets and clips that you will need to do the swap. I think my kit was around $11.00 The kit also comes with instructions on how to mount the spoiler and where to drill the holes. Just be sure you tell them the correct spoiler that you are installing, because the 91-92 modle wrap around spoiler were made different and were made of fiberglass. This is the type I am putting on mine. You could also do like I did and buy the whole hatch as well. There is an f-body salvage yard about an hour away from me and I picked up a 92 model hatch that had had the wrap around spoiler on it for cheap. The spoiler was busted but the hatch was in good shape and had new struts on it. So all I will have to do is install the new gaskets on it and it should be ready to go. And the best part is it's already white!!!! I did this in case I ever wanted to turn my car back to stock I could just switch hatches.
----------
P.S the clips install on the trim piece around the hatch glass. Sorry I forgot to mention that.
