how to clean up the frame..? paint? powdercoat?

i have my K member out. I was going to go with a tubular one. But seeing as how I"m in school and would like to get this car done sooner than later. I'm thinking I will just get it powder coated. the car is blue, what color should the frame be? should I paint the from work all underneith black? specific paint to use? I dont see anyway to really powerdcoat this kind of stuff.

thanks for the tips you guys

A cheap way would be black ceramic high-temp spray paint. Sold at most auto stores. Then apply clearcoat spray paint over it, they make high-temp clear too but I don't know which local auto store sells it. Any clear spray paint will work though. If you don't put on the clear, then antifreeze, gas, and maybe oil will just remove the paint just like paint thinner does.
