Windshield Repair Question

I have a crack in my windshield (right by the inspection sticker). I cannot feel the crack from either the outer pane or the inner pane and I need to repair this damage to get the car re-inspected (places are tough in NJ). This is a bullseye style crack which is above the driver's side windshield wiper arm and has a long (8") crack extending up, passed the inspection sticker to the molding on the glass.

Obviously I can't just take the standard syringe/suction cup windshield repair kit and get at this crack but is there a way to do it without replacing the entire windshield? The only way I can think of right now would be to drill to the bullseye crack from the outer pane, pick out the loose pieces of glass and try to create a seal and push as much resin in as possible to fade the crack. Any thoughts?

Thanks guys,
rob

anything bigger than the size of a quarter cant be repaired. before you know it it will reach across the entire shield. been there done that.

Unfortunatly, once laminate glass gets a run in it, it is ruined.
The reason you cant really feel the crack (though it actually is on one side or the other) is because of the bonding sheet inbetween the two layers of glass. It keeps the crack from lifting/seperating

I have a line that runs under my tint 'visor' on the camaro.. you cannot see it at all outside because the inside layer got the run. Unless you have sensitive fingers, you could not feel it inside and it tinted just fine.

The flash highlites where it starts just left of the r/v mirror.. it runs horizontal, under the tint, to the pass side...
