Body moldings or No body moldings
I am finaly getting started on redoing my 86 bird. It's a white plain jane bird with the 305 4bbl. After I get the body done, I'm going to start the build up of a 350 this winter. I losing the base modle spoiler for the 91-92 aero wing. I also have a power buldge hood that I will be adding as well as a set of GTA rims that I am redoing in charcoal gray until I can afford to get some different wheels. I'm going to keep the car white and I was wondering what you guys think on the body moldings. Should I use the black moldings that came on my 86 or use the wider body colored keyed moldings, because I have those as well. Or should I just leave them off. I'm thinking it may be to much white with out any moldings to break it up. I would like to see some pic with any of the above ideas on white cars. Thanks for any input.

If you are gonna drive it regularly, I would advise against running without the molding, you'll get lots of dings, heck, even in a small garage family members will tend to bang your doors all the time.
The black molding looks good on the white car IMO, I have seen it on some early white Trans Ams, and it does accent the body pretty well.
the white molding may look like a "blizzard" LOL

I went through this same thing with my recent repainting of my '92 Camaro. I decided to go with the moulding. It just gives the car a more factory apperance. No mouldings is a sure indicator that the car was repainted. Not to mention that the moulding were there for a reason and I decided to let them do their job.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I'll just hold them up to the car after it's painted and see wich ones look the best. I thought I might get some people to post some pics just to give me an idea. As for where to get moldings, I guess I'm pretty lucky. There is a guy who has over 250 third gens that lives about an hour away from me. Hes parting all of them out with about 90 percent being involved in accidents. He also rebuilds a few that he gets in that's not hurt to bad. Makes me happy to see some one saving some worthy cars. It also hurts me to see some of the ones thats setting there. Every time I go there I feel like a kid in a candy store. I easily spend 2-3 hours there every time I go there.
did somebody say body molding b4 and after?

Thanks guys those look great. I'm leaning toward leaving them off. I think it might look a little funny with them off with my 16" charcoal gta rims, but I think it will look better with them off when I get my 17" charcoal tt2's. I think the only decals that I am going to put back on are the birds on the b-pillar.
I know it's not a white car, but I chose to leave them off, along with sail birds and GTA fender badges. Nice clean look, IMO.
