...for some reason I have the urge to add black heritage stripes to my car. But I want the experts opinion. Should I or just leave it alone. Anyone ever do black on black striping? If so can I see a pic.







Also thinking of adding Limo black to my back window. Will that take awway the original look. Opinions

 

i wouldnt do black on black, unless you go like a matte black or satin black, like the Mach 1 mustangs did... otherwise, put silver or better yet, red heritage striping.

 

That is what I was thinking..a matte black like the Mustangs...if I can find matte black.

 

I vote Red.

 

You could go with a dark metallic /gunmetal grey on there, that would look cool!

 

I don't know, satin black or flat black against gloss shiny clearcoated black hmmmm STILL not enough contrast, because the black is not metallic or real pearl.

Go with silver stripes, not black. Black stripes on a black car doesn't make any sense to me. Where did you get your tail pipes?

 

they do look like their in extra far to me too, anyways I think I would go with either silver or red

 

I'd leave it alone. I like the way it looks as it is.

 

go with those clear vinyl stick on striping that only glows when headlights hit them at night

 

I am planning on changing my stripes to a satin black, but my painter is stalling me on the project. I made a whole thread about it and even had a couple photochops done with gunmetal. search satin black stripes.

*I would say go for it, but you might beat me to the punch.. HAHA!!

 

Someone else said that once but there is nothing done to them. Those are factory rims, factory size tires and factory suspension. In real life they are not in they are flush with the body. Probably just the angle of the pics. And the fact that most people are use to seeing aftermarket rims on our cars where I prefer the factory look.

Those are tips off of a 4th gen Camaro. You can get aftermartket ones in chrome but only OEM in black. A guy had brought his car to the place I get my pipes done, his car was brand new and had them chopped off and put on the round chromes that everyone has. I got them for $25.00 total.

 

Well I am more in the leave it alone direction but just want other opinions in case I am missing something apperance wise.

Also, why do you have a decklid badge on your car? was it originally a heritage?

 

When I repainted the car I did not put the Heritage stipes back on the car.

 

Now there's an idea. I think I will look into that. How would the current clear coat be effected. would it have to be removed or can they paint the ghost stripes on top of the clear and then reclear the car afterwards?

Red ghost stripes would look super sweet. As long as the current clear coat is in fair shape they should be able to paint over it no problem.

 

i personally like the idea of black on black stripes.
i've got those same tips on my car too.
