Re: the new ride..
this one will be a nice driver. pretty much match the drawing below it.

ss hood, some nice suspension goodies, fresh black paint and a set recaros to sit in will go a long way. then some great bargain parts to make it fun to drive and not worry about parking it.

c5 brakes, ls1 conversion and top it off with a nice new set of boze's. black interior, black paint and black wheels with a nice polished lip should look great. I haven't had a black car since 98 so i'm very excited with this one.

keep the interior factory with the exception of the seats. all black, nice and clean. no need to go over board this way i can finish it quickly. plan is to have it done by july.

Re: the new ride..
i don't get much time on here myself... yes i found one but i'm not sure it's the right one. i'm still looking for that perfect one. i'm starting to slim them down now as i just sold off 3 cars last month. most of them were possible builds that i didn't have time for.

yes it was here in michigan. it needs work but all of that is getting taken care of. i've already had to replace all of the suspension, steering and gas tank setup as well as completely redo the topend gasket setup of the motor so that i could drive it around a bit while i work on the others.

just put a new 3" exhaust on it and currently tracking down all the black pieces i need to finish the interior. should be a nice little ride when it's together. this is my 12th thirdgen this year and i can't believe how many of them are so abused..

Re: the new ride..
I recall you saying in another thread it's an LB9 car and it appears to be a hardtop as well, just like mine..

Gotta love a black Z! Mine is down as well and I too hope to have mine up and running again with the new motor by the end of July.

Keep us updated!

That was going to be my question too. If you just plan on making it a driver and adding an SS hood (as far as the body goes), an entire paint job isn't really necessary. 8555 matches...so it can be panel painted, no blending needed. You could always wetsand the rest of the car, to get rid of the factory peel....then just paint the SS hood. Just curious since it's going to be a driver and it sounds like you don't want to go completely show quality with it. But, if you plan on painting the entire car...thats great too, and make sure to block and block and block on that hood...very wavy fiberglass....

the ss hood is from my original 91 so it just needs paint thankfully. making that thing straight wasn't fun. as for the paint the car was completely restored in 04. however it was given to a kid for his 16th and destroyed. it needs work but nothing that can't be fixed.

also to a comment above it's a t-top 5.0 tpi auto.. for a month or so anyhow.

are you not loved enough right now that you put all the progress pictures of your car on myspace so that people have to add you as a friend in order to see the pics?

sorry! had to stand up for myself!
you call that standing up for yourself...?

it's the internet what are you standing up for? if you want to act like a jerk fine but i'll call you out on it plain and simple. pming me to "stand up for yourself" when you act like an A$$ doesn't do anything. if you wanted some attention on this board there are much better ways. there isn't anything you can't say here, no need to pm me and waste my time. you thought it would be funny, well it wasn't. if you want to act like a high school kid do it on your own time.

so hurry up and get some stupid remark in and then someone close this worthless thread.

when your done be sure to check out my myspace. thanks buddy..

Re: the new ride..
lol... come on now crazy.

right now 3, not the smartest thing but i have so many extra parts. here in michigan these cars are so rare that when you can get one priced right you have to jump on it. the cheapest 91-92 rs in these parts go for $4,000+ with mileage not even considered. to find a z28 it's even more rediculous. i'm sure it's the same for you in hawaii as i can't imagine finding to many nice ones under 5k there either.

i started the others because my hardtop is no longer a driver.

Great looking car. When I was living in Kalamazoo all the 3rd gens I saw were ragged out 84 SC's with the rears jacked up hillrod style. By compairsion my IROC looked pretty decent lol.

Re: the new ride..
Hehehe I wasn't saying anything bad, just poking fun at Dan (rwdtech). I was asking because I lost track after the Vert, haven't been on this forum in a while. I know how hard it can be when doing more than one at a time. Well, good luck getting the new project done by July. It sounds like its going to be a badass car.

i think that seems the be the majority of thirdgens across the nation with the exception of those who really like the car much like many people you'll find here. don't understand it really but it is what it is right.

crazy.. yes definately a handful trying to do more then one project but it happens. just wish there were more aftermarket support for these cars. i keep thinking about the money i lost selling off aftermarket parts over the years. should have kept all the parts. if only money grew on trees we'd all be very happy.
