tires and wheels...help!

i'm looking into a set of boyd coddingtons's wheels, not sure on sizes; hopefully you can help

18x7 front and 18x8rear

or

18x8front and 18x9.5rear

going for a nice aggressive stance with the combos, but don't want to loose drivability.
car is not performance oriented, the occasionally red light to red light stomping.
mostly cruising....

which is better for drivability?
thanks

Firstly..............welcome to the board.

I don't see either set being better than the other. Both sets will work with you car and you should have no rubbing issues with the correct backspacing.

Personally I would go with the 8 & 9.5 set up. You could run a 245 on the front and a 275 on the rear. A lot of guy have this set up and have not had and driveability issues.

Good Luck...............

Re: tires and wheels...help!

thanks for the help...

how do i figure out the height of my stock wheel and tire with the fitment of the new wheels and tires?

reason i ask is; i seen pix with the stock 15's w/tires compared in height with 18's w/tires: and they looked about the same height.

I know i sound new, but... is there a point with matching the height of the stock wheels&tires with the after market wheels&tires?

Re: tires and wheels...help!

there is a point to keeping the overall diameter the same or as close as the same stock. the point is to keep the speedo as correct as possible and going to much bigger or smaller looks like crap...lol. here is a link to a tire size calculator, it works good and i use it alot.

i would go with the 8 inch up front and 9.5 rear. you can go with a 285 tire in the rear and 245 up front and all will fit great. looks agressive and will give you more rubber for traction.
