How do ya get center caps to stay on?

I got off work yesterday and noticed one of my center caps was missing. I thought "Great, now I gotta buy a set to replace one cap". On the way home, I had gotten about 100 feet from my driveway and there it was, in my neighbor's yard. So...I did a ******-n-grab and proceeded home. I was thinking about some black RTV but did'nt know if it would work....anything I can try? They are the stock black plactic ones that say CAMARO on them.

Don't ugly up your rims.

Take some needlenose pliers and bend the locking tabs on the centercaps outwards in SMALL increments while popping the centercaps on and off repeatedly to keep them square and to check your fit. When it's tough to get them on and they're still in shape enough to not rattle, you're good.

I've went two years without a missing centercap now by doing this.

Now all I have to do is get around to replacing the two I lost before I decided to do something about it, lol

Epoxy works for me too, when I need to take them off, the epoxy peels off rather easily with a bit of force and doesn't seem to damage either the center cap or the rim. The bond is strong enough to hold it on though. Just don't make a mess of it haha.

I have the ZR1s from SLP for my 88 iroc. I've lost 2 centercaps in the 1 1/2 year I've had them... So a little glue to hold them on solved any problems I have had (SLP charges 25 bucks a pop and wants you to order over 75$ worth of crap before they ship)...

I use Shoe Goo. Just don't use too much or you will end up uglying up the rims as tyrvidar said.
