Colored or Non-Colored Grille?

okay, so i just ordered the iroc grille with the silver "camaro" letters on the front for my car and i was wondering how it would look if it was painted the same as the body color (blue). ive seen a couple cars with it done and although i like it, im not completely in love with it. tell me what you guys think

Re: Colored or Non-Colored Grille?

i think it makes the car look more finished... some times if you had a two tone the color of the letters should match the two tone and if they do then it makes the paint more matching. -Matt

Yeah keep it black, just paint the letters to match the body color!

Re: Colored or Non-Colored Grille?

I would say keep it black if the headlight buckets are black. It those are the body color than I would keep the grill the body color. I would have to say that Sinister Z would be an exception. Car looks great.

Re: Colored or Non-Colored Grille?

It's meant to make the car look like it actually has some sort of grille in the front that lets air in. Look at the 85-90 GTA's. They look like snowplows. Just a big flat board on the front of the car. Some people like them, I know, but I think they're very ugly.

The reason Camaros look better (IMO at least) is because the monotony of the front end is broken by a sort of illusion of an air intake because that grille insert is black. If you really sit and look at the front of the car, you can see how little of an opening there really is behind those inserts, especially with fog lights in front of them.

A little too technical I guess, but I vote to keep it black. It gives the front end of tehse cars a little depth and makes it seem like there si a little more purpose behind it than there actually is (Since the rad is cooled via air going under the bottom)

Re: Colored or Non-Colored Grille?

I agree with simz28. If the buckets are black, so shall the grill be. Unless of course your accent color is black, like Sinister's. If for some reason he had red accents, having it painted black wouldn't look so good.

Sinister: I love the yenko-inspired stripes. I almost want to do that, but I'd move them back a few more inches so the break in the stripe lines up with the front side marker lense. Beautiful car!

Re: Colored or Non-Colored Grille?

i might actually paint my car black, so i think ill just keep it black. I also agree with InfernalVortex, leaving it black does add a little depth to the car.
