Two Wheels Look Different

I remember reading something a while back where some guy was saying his front wheels looked deeper than his rears. Someone replied, saying that GM did this purposely. I don't remember the reason tho. Mine look the same way, but I was just wondering if the deeper looking wheels are supposed to be in the front or the rear?

thats cuz the offset is different front and rear. on my iroc-z the rims say "front" or "rear"

Deeper on the front, due to thge shallower bs.

Fronts fit the rear, but rears won't fit the front.
