paint, full.

I am going to keep the dark green gray color that is on the 1992 RS that I am rebuilding. I find that alot of reputable body shops do not want to take on a full repaint. Can anyone shed any advise of getting a full re-paint? I mean this is way too difficult.

I am going to do alot of the prep. I just need alot of advise.

If they dont want to do full repaints then there not very reputable.. they just want quick turnaround times for a quick profit. take it to another shop that is MORE reputable

i agree what u can do is ask around usually you can find a person that paints on the side that will do just as good as a job if not better than you would get at a shop, and usually they charge less

hey i had the same problem but some places wanted 4000-4600 for a full repaint and i winded up painting it myself (ive painted other cars myslef before) but i wanted a professional job. the price was outragious so i did it myself and this is how it turned out.........
things wrong before paint job
clear coat pealing
drive side door had 7 rust spots all bondo'd and fibber glass jellyed
front valance broken in right and left corner witch i fiber glassed
little dent on left side corner panel poped out

also just food for thought, if money is tight, technical high schools are always looking for full repaints. they may take longer and it won't (probably) be show quality but there are exceptions to this.

wow, my school actually schedules customers in like a real body shop. I think that the customer only pays for materials too.
