Coolant & Washer Bottles... options...
Of course, I still have my stock ones, yellow and ugly... I see the nice pretty white ones, but they will just get ugly too
I was going through Ebay and caught this guy's firebird, he painted his black... I think they look nice, but unless you mask the indicators, you won't be able to see the fluid... I guess some good cleaning and plastic paint / dye would be the way to go... nice clean engine bay too

Re: Coolant & Washer Bottles... options...
I thought about painting mine for a while, then I found a thread on here where the member replaced his with a tank from an old Explorer. Its divided inside and one side holds the coolant and the other holds the washer fluid. It's roughly the same size and shape as the battery so I am installing it in the front of the engine bay on the other side. I think it'll balance things out nicely when your looking at it, and no more ugly yellow tanks. Plus I will gain all kinds of room to work on the engine without those old tanks in the way.

I plan to get a Billet Specialties Remote Mount resevoir, made from billet aluminum and polished to a beautiful shine. I have no need for wiper fluid as I carry glass cleaner with me at all times. I am keeping my wipers just in case I get caught in rain.
Check them out...you might like. Plus I plan to hide my overflow bottle somewhere by the radiator but still accessible when need be.

Not too bad for price either, but my budget is already stretched tight...

Yeah, that is definitely a better usage of the space under the hood. On my original idea of painting them, I was gonna use Krylon Fusion paint as I've had good luck with it before on plastic lawn chairs. On the tanks I would clean them good and take some 400grit sandpaper over them. I was gonna smooth them out as much as possible and sand the all the words and markings off. I think you would definitely need to use some tape to mask off a a level indicator of some kind. I was gonna use 1/2" masking tape on the front inside corner of each from top to bottom. On the coolant tank, I was gonna also run a 1/4" thick line off of the 1/2" tape line to indicate full hot and full cold. They would have been painted black, then I was gonna use Testor's Model Paint to paint over the indicator lines in Transparent Red. Similiar to the color used for the red taillight mod.
