I'm running a set of GTA wheels on my 88 Camaro and wasn't liking the stock center caps. I'd constanly get people telling me that I had the wrong wheels on my car, or people asking if the WS6 was avalibe on Camaros. It drove me nuts so I finally decided to do something about it.

What I did was cut the top off of the stok cap and insert part of a 4th gen Camaro cap. Took a little more than an hour from start to finish. But I plan on painting them (I just did the wheels, from gold to black) and smothing out the cut edge a little bit more. I'm a tad disapointed that the "Camaro" didn't line up exactly with the corner of the hex...it's like a 1/16" off. Maybe I'll have better luck with the other three. But for my first try I think it came out good.

After looking at the first pic again, it looks like there are gaps between black "emblem" and the housing...that's just the chrome plastic from the 4th gen cap. When I paint the housings, I may try to do the rim/lip in silver. Depends on what colors I can find some Fusion paint in.

 

If it makes you feel any better I'm going to put some Firebird rims on my Camaro.
That's only cause the rims that are on it, when I bought it are junk, and it needs tires now. Got the Firebird rims for free. So until I buy some rims. I gave away my center caps though.
