Re: Re-Rims Before&After

It's tough to really tell from the pictures but it looks like a nice improvement. The outer rings look really yellowed in the "before" picture. What did you do to them?

Re: Re-Rims Before&After

Yeah i took pic with the phone so its off but the Before is Aluminum Dish with Black centers, The black was fading and looking dull- the aluminum's clearcoat was starting to eat away so it was spotty- They looked great 5feet away after a nice clean and polish but I dont look at my car 5ft away. LOL

So the GTA Embles (Gold) got color matched-Panton Coded and the Rims dish were powder coated in the same gold- with 2 clears they look great but i have to wait another week for the final clears which is a clear with metalic flakes to get the GTA's Trans Am Birds gold perfict. I will take better pics to show what I am trying to do.
But is short the TA bird emble on the sails has a matalic type of gold-but the same gold hue as the GTA embles. I am basically matching the Lips on the rims to that gold.

In person as is with out final it is a perfic match and is really deep. I am deffentaly liking them so far- but perhapse because I know its not done I am at a.....Hummmm....state of mind.

So this weekend once I get the clear they will get wetsanded again and cleared with 3coats. They should look like they are melting....

I hope...

Hopefull the above makes the pictures, make more sence.

Re: Re-Rims Before&After

But I thought I post anyway

They are now clear coated and shine up 10x better, happy with the look.

Re: Re-Rims Before&After

Glad you got rid of that yellowish looking lips... Looked muddy, or something! Good with polished lips!!!

*edit* - posted before scrolling down. I don't think that the gold is working.

Re: Re-Rims Before&After

LMAO,

that is alright, thank you for the feedback. Wish I could get a better pic. look better in person.

Hopefully with the rest of the sheme done they will fit in better. Worst case- just strip them to polish lip again.

Thanks
