T-Top make-over
My wife's IROC-Z has t-tops that were looking kind of nasty. The metal trim that goes along the top of the window was faded real bad. I am sure there are a number of you out there that have the same problem, and considering the car itself looks awesome with a new paint job and flashy wheels, the t-tops were one of the only things hindering the appearance of the car. So I fixed them up real nice today, all in all, a total of 20 minutes spent and a cheap can of Dupli-Color Trim Paint.
Here you can see how nasty they looked before:

I took some newspaper and masking tape, and taped off the glass and the rubber seals:

Here is the product used for the make-over:

A quick shot of the car after a wash and wax job (poor image quality due to using my Blackberry):

After a couple coats of Trim Paint:

On the car:

This is the trim around the rear hatch glass. I used this same product to refinish the trim when we repainted the whole car about 2 years ago:

My t-top trim is fine but I'd like to refinish the trim around the hatch... How did you do it?
Did you take the trim piece off or did you mask off the entire hatch/back of the car and paint it while it was intact?

I just masked off the glass and the rest of the car. Just take a sheet of painters plastic and drop it over the front of the car and use some newspaper and masking tape for the glass hatch. If there is a little bit of surface rust on the trim, take a piece of sand paper and just wipe it down first.

Advance. I'm pretty sure you can get the same stuff at AutoZone or Napa or even O'Reilly's.

Good job. Looks nice!
...I've actually done that myself. I used regular krylon satin black. It's starting to fade a little again, and needs to be redone, but it's been 3 summers, so..... ...not bad for a few bucks and a few minutes!!!

Neither, I just sprayed over it without any prep work at all. That Trim Paint is good stuff. I sprayed over the stock grill on my 2000 Silverado with this paint without any prep work and it has held up for about a year and a half now without any issues.

Re: T-Top make-over
Nicely done nick.. I was thinking something similar for my t-top bar as its paint is fading. Will definitely give this a try.
