how much do those covers cost and are they hard to install

is it sapphire blue like mine? i love the color black is nice just i wouldnt want it on a vehicle that was sitting in the sun for years. im glad i have the medium blue and not a dark color it would probaly look like crap. i just like the blue iv got so many people commenting saying that they love the blue. i dont see many ligher factory blue thirdgens on here much.

I'm not aware of any Sapphire blue that was used on Third Gens, or any F Body for that matter. I think you're talking about the Ultra Blue Metallic. That's what I have, but it's a tad faded.

When I bought a 1988 IROC-Z spoiler a couple months back I pulled off mine, and the paint underneath is the Ultra Blue Metallic for sure, I just do not like it though. Black fits Camaros so much better IMHO.

Wow, I love it! Is that a stock black? It resembles the Sapphire Black on BMW's.

 

I haven't been keeping up with TGO regularly for the past few days, and didn't get around to reply sooner, but wow! That hood looks amazing up close. Especially with that scoop insert in the second picture.

If only I had an extra $3,000+ to blow on a resto-mod look.

 

How did you get the car to be like high off the ground

 

I'm not sure how black84z28-4spd did that. My IROC sits pretty low to the ground.

lol i guess i had the name wrong i though i remember there was a sapphire blue but i guess not. mine was faded and with some wax i got mine looking better then new. black does look good if its kept good you CANNOT be stupid at washing the car or go through a car wash if you are then DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT GETTING A DARK COLOR! iv seen black look like crap quick. just alot of people have blk camaros and they blend in if there isnt good light. just my opinion

Black cars in general are easy to keep clean. It depends on the shade..

Sapphire Black BMW's and just about any metallic black car will look clean for just about ever. The problems come along with Jet blacks, or any of the softer blacks. Although, with multiple clear coats there won't be any problems. I've been talking to a few painters since I will be most likely painting the Camaro soon, and they seem to think Sapphire is the way to go.

I really like Mercedes' Obsidian metallic Black. I'd hate to know how much it costs per gallon though.

 

i like that sapphire black. my durango which is deep dark blue get's dirty FAST in 1 day the car will me think in pollen. how many of the cars with my paint were there made? i seen a couple DARK blue camaros, the lighter more common mostly 90's camaros and i rarely see ones that look like mine. like the 1 86 i belive iroc camaro that's called sapphire it has the same paint job as mine and i think thats where i though of the name. let me find a link to the car http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzniSzGdjNM

almost makes me want a black camaro, but theres nothing like candy apple red!

 

yes that is the stock gm black for that year. its just the stuff i use to keep it clean and i spend alot of time keeping it clean. once i get some newer 18 inch wheels it will be slammed. that is the stock ride height

Not sure of tire size but his car is on airbags so he can lower it almsot any height he wants, also the rims look to be 20" rear and 18" front, correct me if I'm mistaken sickness. It is a beautiful car!

 

You can say that again. Brisk has probably the best Third Gen vids on Youtube, aside from ZZ3Astro. I love his turbo IROC. He's putting down 332.8 FT.-LBS. of Torque at the wheels with a completely stock 5.7 TPI, and a single eBay turbo.

Then again, I just love the way IROC's look in black, so mean.

Those exhaust tips are massive! Haha. What are they? Gotta be at least 4". That's the neatest thing I've seen yet on this thread, they look bigger than the tip of an MBRP system for a 7.3 Powerstroke diesel!

 

By the way 85projectZ28, what exactly are you running, exhaust wise? Probably echoes with tips that big!

Here's my 86 Iroc.

 

I have small tube headers (not sure of the brand) powdercoated grey, a flowtech 2-1/2" true dual exhaust with no cat, and two turbo mufflers. the tips are 5" diameter! HAHA! Ya I liked them because they looked real burly! They wrap around the mufflers themselves! Im glad you like it. I will try to throw a youtube video so you can hear the way it sounds.
