Picture my car, an 83 base model firebird. It has the 83 front bumber, 87 rear bumper and tailights. Original spoiler and the hatch wiper is gone and the hole fiberglassed. Slightly raised rear end(new shocks LOL). It will be getting a fresh midnight bluish paint job next week, and hatch tint shortly after. The phrase "sharp little muscle car" comes to my mind.

While I'm getting the tint... Camaro's are lucky, they got that nice bowtie (not exactly a unique Idea) but,, what to get for a Firebird?

The only thing I've seen and acually thought was cool was a Metallica symbol. The redish line drawing off the cover of the binge and burge Cd set. I thought it really suited the car and looked awesome on that heavily modified car. But I don't want that.

I thought about a fire breathing chicken either breathing fire onto a overturned mustang or crushing a mustang in it's claws while breathing fire on Honda or some other asian import. This may attract too much attention, some might not agree with my opinion.

Any hatch ideas, pics?

Now the hood. I want the BIG firebird there but to me this belongs on a second gen with a 454. What to do?

My friend has this whicked picture of a evil almost naked sexxy angel holding a halberd, ready to stab you and the outside kinda swirls out to a fade. Know what I mean? It has real cool colors and looks good on the suped-up chevy truck.

Anyone have pictures like that or any hood ideas? Maybe a detailed Firebird airbrushed with flames slightly escaping it's mouth and blending into an outside swirl. Very dark with little contrast to my paint job.

I wouldn't even know where to begin with finding an artist to draw it and acually geting it put on my hood.

Let me know any opinions, I would also like to know what you think about the factory crome trim? I can't decide if i wanna put it back on after or use all the stuff I horked from the parts car (plain black moldings, door trim)

Do you mean the Metallica logo withthe four "M"s? I don't think you should do that, seeing as there is a stereotype that links third gen drivers to Metallica and trailer parks. A co-worker of mine has the firebird bird on the hatch of his 89 Formula. It looks nice, I like it. Otherwise, I'd just leave it plain. But its up to you. Rock on, Metallifan!

I mean the sketch of the skull with horns and the black mohawk. The crossbones have blood dripping from them. I would say it was about a foot and half square.

No one would know it was metallica emblem unless their real sharp or a big fan.

I'm kinda liking this idea. I want something very unique. I seen that in a different city so I may get away with copying. I want something better, I need ideas.

If I had a V8 I'd get the Firebird crushing a mustang, then I could back it up everytime.

I couldn't do my border crossings for cheap Rye anymore. How many Mustang owners carry guns...

 

Well...I will give you a little word of advice...since you changed the back bumper and back tail lights to the '87 style...do the same to the front end and the side gfx. I did the same to my car...and it looks great. You would never know it was an '83(which I like b/c I hate the looks of the front ends of the '83 TA's.) But it is your car...do what you want. I have the powerbulge hood. I am planning on getting a custom hood bird. I want a small bird on the top of that powerbulge scoop...and I am planning to get flames fading down the whole scoop. I obviously cannot afford this at this time...since I am only 16. I am going to get a paint job for now...and maybe in the future I am going to get that on the hood. Tell me what you think...and if you go along with stealing my idea(lol) then at least post some pics so I can see how my idea looks. Also...leave the hatch plain...and just get a dark tint. If not...go with the screaming chicken emblem...there was a pic with a car and one in thier back window...it was in a post like 2 days ago...it was about stickers and rice. Check it out. Glad to see another person around here with an '83 like me. Also...is your engine stock? Mine has a 350 dropped in her. Post some pics of your car...im interested in how it looks.
