polishing all the aluminum
hi well i have a 305tpi/auto 87iroc camaro and my wheels look kinda crappy and the plenum and other aluminum on the engine look ok but not the best and i would like to do the whole polishing thing with sanding and all but i wanna know how long does say each wheel take to strip clearcoat, sand, restore aluminum, paint, and then polish. how long does it take to do this all correctly without shortcuts? how long does it take with the parts ( plenum, a/c, intake runners, aluminum lines and all that without actually having to take anything out of the engine bay. also i basically have nothing for this exept towels and how much is all the tools like i need a drill and a polisher whats the best for budget concened also what compounds are the best to use and what other tools do i need. thx everyone.
and yes there stock iroc rims. i have most of the aluminum engine bay parts polished lightly to just give a lil shine but not near proffesional and the plenum is shiny but not chrome like at all like i wish.

Re: polishing all the aluminum
Do a search, this topic has been covered alot. I think there is even a few tech articles on how to polish wheels/underhood.
When I did my wheels (strip clear coat, polish), I had over 8 hours into the first one. By the 4th one, I had it down to about 5 hours.
