How To Photoshop?
How To Photoshop?
Hey guys...I have Adobe Photoshop 6 with Eyecandy 4000, but i was wondering how you guys change the color of a car and actually keeping it looking real, with the mirror look and everything. Help me out here.

There are a few ways of doing it. The method I use is to use the lasso to make a circle around your car. Then go to image, then to adjust. then to colour balance and play with the colour you want. Sometimes it will look pale so I go back and do it a few times. Also you can play with the contrasts/brightness/levels etc. Once you've got the shade you want, click on the history brush (looks like paint brush with arrow going around it) And use that to delete all the excess colour that isnt on the car's body. Another way is to make a new layer. Then fill the new layer with the colour you want. Then in the layer box, click on 'overlay'. after that use the history brush. I know there are other ways of doing it with masking, but i never bothered trying

thats the hard way to do it....lassoing is a pita but it will get the job done...
or you can just go to Image >> Adjust >> Replace Color
a new dialog box will show up and your cursor will turn into and eydropper. click on your car in the origial image and in the dialog box you will see your car in white....now just play with the sliders at the bottom and the pshop will automatically chage every pixel in the specified color range to the new color (the fuzziness slider will adjust how many pixels are affected). you may have problem with black or white because they are basically the absence and presence of all color. to change those cars is a little more complex...
