Who Else Thinks Huge Cowl Hoods Are Stupid¿?
Who else, besides me, thinks huge cowl induction hoods on 3rd gens look ridiculous¿? It doesn't look right since they were computer controlled cars and not carbed, most of em. I don't like the way most cowl hoods have the buldge go all the way to the front of the hood. I want to put a cowl hood on mine but its only a 2 inch lift or so, and it starts to lift about 3/4 of the way down the hood. I'll try to post a pic of my cowl hood that I want to put on mine soon.

First of all, the front ground effect is busted b/c of the previous owner. Second, it's a furniture box, it hides the tranny fluid that the VSS sensor is leaking, thank you previous owner. Third, what is that website that allows you to post pics for free.

Actually, large cowl hoods are fine. I think they rarely look good on thirdgens. Every once and awhile I'll see one. I liked Screamdemonz (Believe thats the name)... but usually no. Bras... I agree they are ugly. As for the pizza box... well it does look like a pizza box. Can't blame people for thinking it. I think they're just saying remove it before taking pictures.

I think large cowl hoods do look out of place. 2 1/2 inches is the max I would put on my car. Also, I think bras are even uglier than a messed up front. I hit someone and cracked my front in 3 places and scratched the paint pretty bad and I still won't put a bra on my car. I sanded it, painted it, and it looks halfway decent. It will do until I replace the nose in the spring. Finally, don't start getting all pissed off because people think its a pizza box. They're just messing around. Act mature about it. No need to start a war on the boards over a box. I personally woulda taken it out before I took the picture, but thats just me.

Thats my hood!
Anyway, who cares if it is or isn't a pizza box and i agree bras do suck, but I think it looks better than a busted up front end. Plus I moved it for photographs but the box usually catches the tranny fluid that leaks. Get this, the previous owner spent more than a $1000 on the alarm sys. thats in there and had the VSS sensor replaced b/c it wasn't working right and still doesn't, now it leaks oil.

Any cowl larger than 2 1/2",4"looks terrible,on any car for that matter. On a drag car it doesn't matter, not going for looks there.

I do agree that a bra looks better than a busted up front end. I hate bras but my front bumper has a big *** hole in it and it looks like @$$. Big cowls are nasty.they look out of place. i got one those daytona hoods ..its ok.

Dude... the pizza box comment was a joke and everyone is running with it except you. I didn't mean to push your buttons.
Anyway, I got to change my mind about the cowl hood. A gigantic Trans Am LS1 snorkle is way worse.
(hint: another joke... well, sorta).

People may be laughing at the hood now with the L03 lurking in side, but soon they will pheer the almighty 383 when it blows away the LS1's
Well, actually only people on this board hate it, everyone else in the world who's seen it, loves it. Always get asked about it wherever I go.

i think cowls are neat...at least they dont have big yellow chinese symbols on their car...or honda racing or some shxt like that...and hey i have a bra, yeah it looks like crap, but the dumb drunk hookerfish who had the car before me rubbed her *** on it and left rusted body on the front right! and i was retarded enough to not look under the bra before i bought it...sigh...atleast ill remeber in the future, i hope.
Man, this is the most non-tech post I've seen in a while. Did you really have to start this big flame war? I mean, it's about as stupid as going to 31 flavors and stopping at a random person eating there and saying "I don't like mint chocolate chip ice cream, because it's not as smooth as vanilla, so f#$% everyone else that likes it!" It doesn't make any sense. Everybody has different tastes. As far as I'm concerned this just riles people up, and has not one use for this board. I happen to be a fan of modified hoods, no matter what shape or form...it doesn't even have to be to my liking. It just shows somebody is showing some love to these cars, and are enjoying them. Would you want every car to look the same? I wouldn't, just leave your opinions to yourself, there is already enough hate in this world.

Sheesh, I think people like you are stupid to come in here and post a topic that is for sure to start a flame war. Why do it? You get your jollies off of things like this?
