there's a white either 91 or 92 z28 camaro that's been just sitting on blocks for awhile now in a lot next to a company that i was thinking about trying to bring it back to it's glory. i got in touch with that company, and the guy said it's his brother inlaws car. someone stole the rims off it and there's nothing wrong with it, just been sitting on blocks for months. he told me to call him back tomorrow to see what the owner says about it. now, how much should i offer him for it? it has 103k on it, t-tops and no rims sitting on blocks collecting dirt. what do you think this car is worth? don't know if it's a 305 or 350. everything seems to be there minus the radio and wheels and rear view mirror hanging there. let me know what you guys think. thank you.

 

hmm u didnt mention if it was a 5 speed or auto drums in back or rear discs, im assuming the body is in great condition, id say u can get away with $4,000 or less if u know how to talk him down into it. Im assuming its a TPI, cause RS's came with 3.1 and 305 TBI's so $4,000 would seem reasonable.

 

Perosnally, i wouldnt buy it for more then around 2800, that is because i bought mine for only 5 grand with everything perfect with only 58,000 miles on it, few scratches but i am getting it repainted in the next month or so. U just gotta look around

The point im gonna bring up is since its been sitting on blocks for a while you cant tell if anything is wrong with the suspension, maybe its been sitting around and some of the parts are broken?

id say $3,000 to $4,000

 

It's a 305. They didn't offer t tops in 91 or 92 with a 350. I would offer him something pretty low as well because it has no rims and has been sittin, so it probably has some dried out hoses and other things that a sitting car gets. Hope I helped!

Whatever you do low ball him first. That means give him a price that is terribly low. Then give them a few days to think it over. If it has been sitting for a few weeks he may just take it. The car worth any more just sitting there. Then point out all flaws you see. Don't let him dictate the price remember you can always walk away from the deal and make sure he knows that. My guess is you can get this car for really cheap. Good luck.

The owner probably had no plans to sell it until you came along so don't let him try to make a mint. also make him start that car. Don't assume it is running in good shape just because he says someone stole the tires. Think of it this way, if someone stole those items off your car that runs perfectly good would you replace them and keep driving or say the hell with it and just put it on blocks?

elevario is it true you cant get a 350 w/t-tops ive never heard that before and i thought ive seen some 350 T-Top cars.

great, thanks for the responses guys. the last inspection on it is 9-99 also, so you know it's been sitting for awhile. it's an automatic with drums on the rear, dics on the front. it looks like newer shocks and struts. the under body is in good shape, looks like a small leak in the rear tranny seal. i was hoping to maybe get it for $1k. do you think that's unlikely. i was wondering that as well why it's been sitting there that long if only the rims were stolen. like said, i'd have at least some type of rims on it to keep driving it if i were him. well, thanks for your help guys, i'll let you know what happens tomorrow when i talk to him.

the 91-92 t-top with 350 deal is up in the air. Regardless of what others say, there is no proof that they were not made. If memory serves me, there were 1 or 2 guys on this board with factory-original examples that disprove the rumor. Still exceptionally rare apparently.

No book,website,internet rumor says that there was 350 T-top in 91-92 Zs.They all said none was made from the factory regardless of what some owners thinks or wants to believe is true.Are they original owners,probably/definately not.

and nobody on this site has a 91-92 350 t-top car.There are a few 355,383 Zs,that is it.Nobody I ever came across with a 91-92 350Z has a factory t-top car.

Actually all the books say it couldn't be ordered just like 350 GTA's with ttops and I am pretty sure that some of those were made. Now nothing says they WEREN'T made it said they couldn't be ordered.
