88 FIREBIRD RIMS - POLISHABLE?
I clean my rims but they never quite look that good. Anyone have any thoughts on polishing, where to go, how much, etc.
Anyone done it even? And what are the stock rims considered, steel, alloy? Thanks!

Dont do it!
Unless you have the right tools and know what your doing. I bought a Dremal (small rotary tool) to try to get some scrapes and some thing that look like it was burned on my rim. The little polishing tool made of felt put these little black line through my rim, krap I said.
So I tried a different bit something that looks like a blue little polishing rock and oh yeah it shined it up real nice. A little too nice if you ask me it shined like a mirror, thought the rest of my rim is flat aluminum. The only bad thing about using a little dremel to shine your rim is its impossible to keep that thing straight. So its kind of like you have permanate water streeks where you have polished.
If I'm not mistaken you can take it to a pro and have them polish the rims for $80.00
a piece.
