Paint for Restoration

I realize this is a camaro site, however I read some threads on here about paint advice and thought you guys might have some good advice. I am getting a '65 Chevelle Malibu SS restored but was confused when the guy was talking to me about the paint job. The car was originally red and I'd like to keep that way. I'm assuming by going through a restoration shop I'll be spending a good chunk of money on that paint job, but if I'm doing red, do we go base coat/clear coat or urethane? From my most recent conversation with the shop, it made me think that if I want urethane, I should pick a different color? I want the paint job to last and the car will be covered and stored in the garage. Any advice would be appreciated!!
