Shattered Window
Shattered Window
As I was getting ready to go to school this morning, my mom showed me that my passenger side window, and the driver's side window of my dad's car had both been smashed in. I was pretty mad. All I can say is thank goodness for window tint, it kept both windows from being shattered completely. Also, this was definitely targetted because they were the only 2 cars on the block that this happened to. Is there anything I can do to stop this, it's the second time for my car and I don't know how many for my dad's. I've heard about Lexan glass, but what is and how much does it cost? Thanks guys, I really wish I could just find whoever did this. I'd have a few "words" with them.
Lexan is actually plastic so it won't break as easily but it will get a lot of stress cracks. I suggest getting some bullet proof glass. I would like to see the look on someone's face when they try to break that. Also get an alarm because it would attract attention. If that don't work get a pit bull. Put that in your car with a little water bowl and wait for someone to get near. They will crap their pants when they it. I hope this doesn't happen again.

Yeah, the glass guy told me about Lexan and how it gets scratched real easy. I think I would like to drop some extra cash someday to get it bullet proofed though, could add some safety too. Also, I do have an alarm, but we never turn it on at my house, too many ricers with loud exhaust and loud sound systems that set it off, same when we have thunderstorms. Thanks for the tips, though.
Check your alarm for a sensitivity setting, try playing with that untill the slighest thig dont set it off, but making sure if you rock the car a bit it will. Or get one of those really bright motion lights for the front of your house so it will turn on if any one goes near the cars. Did they throw rocks at it or walk right up to it, if they threw rocks neither one will help. But I have seen those alarms for convertables that go off when you even stick you hand in the car, some motion sensor I guess, maybe look into one of those? Then theres my favorite dress in black paint your face black and hide in your yard everynight then if you see somone coming near your car jump out and screem and chase them, this will probably scare the s*** out of them and they probably wont be back.
No, they walked right up to both cars. My neighbor said he heard some kids talking and then a thud at about 3 am this morning. I talked to my dad and we're thinking about getting those hidden cameras to watch the cars at night. But, then I do have black face paint, I was thinking about doing that tonight anyway, just in case.
You colud allways order those camaras from that real anoying pop up ad that X10 thing, a buddy of mine got the new ones with the tilt and pan options, they even give you software so you can set them up to as a server on you pc so you can view them from any where any time.

Id recommend doing what i did...you are going to spend the money one way or another anyway..
Talk to your dad about investing in a security system to mount inconspicuously facing your driveway. You can get a 24 hour, 4 camera wireless recording system at Sams Club, kinda steep ($600) but considering this is to monitor ALL that occurs and not just the window situation it would pay itself off.
A similar situation occurred here when my 91 RS kept getting egged, scratched and kicked (no serious damage...just footprints)
I bought a cheaper system that recorded only for 3 1/2 hrs at a time which i had to replace the tape...And caught the 2 people doing it...but i didnt turn em in that time...i waited to have them do it again.
They did it twice on camera (which caught faces/clothing/and license plates as they were driving to come do it apparently)...
this resulted in legal action taken upon these two 17 YR OLD GIRLS!!!!
A combined sentence of 3 yrs probation, 2 yrs revoked licenses, restraining orders and a sh*t-eating grin on my face.
good luck whichever path you choose.

Thanks for that reply. We have a police security store around where I live and we were going to go there to check out the cameras, depending on price I'll tell my dad to check Sam's.
No, I don't have any suspicions, but I wish whoever did it was who I want to have done it. It's this punk who drives a riced out civic and thinks it's fast(all he's done is put on a fart can, clear taillights, and new wheels.) I would have so much fun going off on that car. But I also think it might be kids from around the neighborhood, if I find out it is, then I will laugh as I dance around their burning corpses. Just kidding of course, oh wait, no I'm not.
