Re: 91-2 GTA Tails

The pop-ups say the grid is blocking some of the LEDs.

I like the lights, but I don't know about the LEDs. The sequential nonsense all looks too busy. I think I'd prefer the stock look, or maybe LEDs positioned around the existing grids.

Its a 1 off piece, they arent taking any orders for anything. They look cool, prolly just for carshows.

Kind of cool, actually. Maybe it's just the video but it's hard to tell the difference between brakes and running lights. The amount of LEDs increases but the brightness doesn't...

Re: 91-2 GTA Tails

wow, those things are well done. i've tossed around the idea of doing an LED setup in the stock TA tails sometime down the line. a bit more alignment and it would look reallly amazing.

Same here, even picked up the LEDs and some boards for it a few years ago but I'm so apprehensive when it comes to pulling apart the factory tails. Don't want to break them!

I feel the same way. will probably be on the lookout for another set of TA tails just in case I mess up. we'll have to see what 2012's tax check looks like

Re: 91-2 GTA Tails

Nice idea, bad execution. Grid blocking LEDs just looks like a lot of dead or dying ones.

Where'd you get the LEDs & boards? I have 2 extra sets of tail lights & it wouldn't be the first time I've pulled a set apart then put them back together, so I ain't skeered to give it a try. Just haven't found the right sized boards or LEDs that I can trust enough to actually be bright enough not to have wasted my time building them

Re: 91-2 GTA Tails

Honestly, it's been a good 6 years and three houses since I ordered all the stuff. All I know is they're superflux LEDs (such as;http://www.allspectrum.com/store/sup...ade-p-234.html) and the boards are nothing special, just had planned to cut them down to fit and hopefully with the sizing fit two superflux LEDs per grid "opening".

You've pulled apart the 91-92 style lights or the earlier style? Are they different in their disassembly?

The earlier 87-89 GTA style.....

If I had the 91/92 style, I'd sell them to fund another part for my car. People seem to think they are gold & pay crazy money for those.
