After my cam swap which will be after christmas at some point, probably spring break. I'd like to paint my car via the tractor enamel route.
I just orchestrated a trade for my cowl hood for an IROC hood... and Im just trying to decide what to do. I've wanted an IROC hood for AGES and I've finally got one, but now Im wondering if it'll look like a weird piece-mealed hybrid abomination car with mismatched parts. Not that anyone but us would notice, but for hte first time I'm giving it some second thoughts. Guess the grass IS always greener on the other side.
I figure I could try to be year correct, and throw the 91-92 blisters on, but Im not sure how that would look with my 3-piece spoiler. The blisters add a little bit of a bulkiness and height to the hood that's balanced well by the high-rise spoiler.
Option 1 is to go to a stock 91-92 Z28 setup with the hood blisters and high rise spoiler. I can sell the louvers on my hood probably and buy blisters at least, part of the high rise if not all of it with the proceeds.

This will of course mean welding up holes in the rear quarters where my factory spoiler is. I'll need to outsource that...
Option 2:
Just throwing the IROC hood on my car and keeping my factory spoiler. Will look good, but not year correct.

Or I could sell the louvers, by blisters, and just pocket the change for whatever...

The IROC hood is definitely the better looking one, but there's something about keeping it correct to the year, plus the rarity of the 91-92 Z cars that make me want to do that a little bit. Ive had a few people tell me the 91-92 "high rise" spoiler looks like garbage, and I used to be of that opinion myself, but it's grown on me. I will, however, NOT be putting Z28 badges on the car. I have no interest in making a "clone".
What would you guys do?

I've been thinking of trading my IROC hood for a cowl hood! With your options though, I would just put the louvered IROC hood on. I don't worry to much about year correct stuff though.

Use the Blisters with the 3pc spoiler... It looks super hot on that last pic. I would say use the Hawks 5" spoiler, but wasn't an option on your list

I always liked the Iroc hood. Who cares if it isn't year correct.

This from someone who HAS a high-rise spoiler.. interesting. Your car is a good example of what makes me WANT a high rise spoiler.Originally Posted by BADNBLK

The hawk's spoiler doesnt really match the lines of the car that well in my opinion. It's a little too steep, and the corners are WAY too sharp. They should have radius'ed the side pieces the same as the factory pieces. But that's just my opinion.

I love the high rise spoiler! Don't get me wrong, but I already have one... get it... Like if I were building another car today it would have a 3pc spoiler no matter what hood... cause I don't have one Originally Posted by InfernalVortex

I just think its a combo not many people are putting together and would make your subtley stand out... if that makes sense.
