Keoman I can answer that ...and it no...If you look at your car or any 3rd gen, from the outside ...there is a small amount of metal on the roof of a t-top car...that small amount of roof is above the back seat..

Yeah, headroom is the same & i placed the window just behind the seatback.So even jerking my head back wont contact the window.

this would be cool for my louvers but i could make them more flush and style them to look like the rear glass more so then them being out of place and bulky.

 

You mean louver the center, where the V section is & recess them.So it looks flat from a profile?

 

no like make my cragar louvers out of fiberglass, and make them level, and more flush.

 

I get that. I think it would look very good. The problem would be that it would need to be in some sort of hinged frame to facilitate cleaning the back window.

You're doing a good job on this, I'm waiting to see how it looks on the car.

I can't say that I care much for the aesthetic styling, but I admire your fabrication skills. Fiberglass takes patience to work with, and you did a good job on it.

I like what you have done so far. Have you thought about cleaning it up and seeing what it would look like without the spoiler?

 

The no spoiler look, looks great on camaros w/out the gfx, but it does look cleaner w/out it in the pics.

Yeah, I wouldnt do this again in fiberglass.If i did i would use sheetmetal.Im far from done & its been a yr since I started this, minus a 5-6 mth hiatus.There is more block sanding & several blemishes to fix.Plus it keeps wanting to crack on me.

 

Side note: What kind of T-tops are those, with the sunrood style pivot?

 

C&C t-tops.
Just got back from a 30+ mile test ride, thru canyons/streets.Surprisingly quiet, no creaks, cracks or air leaks.
Hell of a blind spot though!

This may sound silly, but i feel nore add ons would be overkill.I likw the stock body look.Just always felt the back was a little "wide" looking with that huge glass.That deck is flashy enough for me.

 

I agree with everything except the wide body part. I think if he added the wide body it would make it look like a hot wheels.
A nice set of 18's with a nice size lip, an SS hood and a hawks 5" wing would be perfect for this

 

I like the style of the one in the ad though. I think about half way between this one and OP. The Op looks sort of Manta Ray to me, I like it but it doesn't seem very practical from a rear view seeing outa the car perspective.

The first thing I said when I looked at it was "man thats gonna suck trying to back up, change lanes, etc". Huge blind spot. I would have rounded the corners off on top and made the extension of the roof line shorter though. That is, if I had the mad skills to do this in the first place! Very nice work.
Doing some math here, you had 300 hrs months ago and werent even sure if you were going to like it! Even if you paid yourself min wage (an insult for such talent) you'd be nearly 5 grand in this, materials and all. But we do these things for the love of our cars, not the value.

 

Think I have a pic somewhere, but yeah, there's a pretty big blind spot compared to before, but its no worse than driving a van with no side windows or sommit like that.It doesn't look much different thru the rear view though, not that I'm relying on it now.Its not as bad as I was thinking it would be, I'm getting used to it!

I never did do the math on the hours/work.That's a lot of $$ in labor.

The taillights are painted from the inside.There is a very old thread floating about on the forum.

I love how you blended the quarter -> roof roll into the hatch. Also love the third brake light.

If I were to do it and use your design, I might use a little more shallow/mellow blend from the stingers to the deck lid. Defiantly the most aggressive/pronounced lines on the car.
But maybe that's the look you were going after. Again, just my

Dude that looks phenominal IMO. That thing is so sleek and I think it goes with the lines pretty good. Not sure I like the idea of the SS style hood..it might be too much. But would be neat to see it temporarily just to see what it would look like.

The only view that doesnt give me the warm and fuzzies is straight on looking at the back. But, I dont see any way you could have done it differently and it STILL looks good.
