RacingHart Rims

I looked at the wheelmax.com's website specials, and they are offering a set of Z5000 (thin 5-spoke) 17x7 rims w/ choice of tires for $1099.

To my disappointment, the employee who answered the phone said they wouldn't fit my car due to a dramatic offset (I think he said 45 or something? I suppose).

I was wondering if they did have that much offset, would they still be able to work with my car with some sort of adapter or space or some such? or is it just a lost cause? Currently I have the 15x7 aluminums.

Anyway, thanks for the help/suggestions guys, you've given me fairly good advice so far!

With a 45mm offset the rims backspace should be 5.25" and will fit.
In the latest issue of CHP magazine there's an article on fitting different rim sizes and on their chart 3rdGens can handle a 5.5" backspace. The only thing u may have 2 worry about is the bore size. Which is the size of hole in the center of the rim where the center cap goes. It's possible it may be 2 small.
