Need suggestions on wheels

My 92 Formula has stock 16" black GTA's. I also own a 98 Camaro and 2007 Mustang. Got 17"s for the Camaro and 20" torque thrusts for the Mustang at OEwheelsllc.com for great prices. Trouble is, this site sells only wheels for 4th gen on. Id like to put 18"s on my Formula, but every place Ive looked into so far is either 4th gen on, or are prohibitively expensive ($250-$600 per rim!) for 3rd gens because they have to be specially forged. The rim sets I bought on OEwheelsllc were in the $400-$550 range not including tires. Fantastic! Is there any place I can find good 3rd gen 18" rims for prices like that?

I know they make the ZR1s for the early C4 Vettes 84-87, they are 38mm offset. I think that is close for what the 3Gs need. OE or somebody might make some of the other Vette style for an early C4, maybe worth checking on.

Yeah, I'll look into it and check the offset numbers. Thx.

You can always run a spacer behind the 4th gen wheels. LOTS of people do it, myself included. Best part is, when you upgrade to a 4th gen rear or a rear the same width as a 4th gen, you no longer need the rear spacers.

Id have to get longer studs too, but thats no big deal. How big a spacer would I need? Whats the offset difference between rims that will and wont work on a 3g? One bad thing about that though is that Ive always thought it didnt look good if the tires are shoved outboard too far. It can look cheap if you arent careful. Kind of like "oh yeah, that dude couldnt get rims that fit so he had to use spacers". So the key to me is to use them but keep them understated enough that it isnt obvious. Is that your blue IROC? Those look ok. Looks like there might be a spacer, but its not obvious, thats the look Id go for. I also found this site that has some rims for decent prices that will work on 3g's.

You'll need about 2" adaptors. That way you don't need longer studs. The 2" adaptors will sit the 4th gen/Vette wheels in just about the stock location. It'll be very close to how your current factories look and fit.

I have 2" spacers in the front, I have slightly longer studs but that is only because I also have the Ls1 brake upgrade. With stock brakes, longer studs are not needed because the spacers have their own studs in them to attach the wheels to.

With the spacers up front, the wheels sit in the stock location. It's only obvious when the wheels are off the car while it's being worked on. Kinda blends in when it's on the road.

I used to have rear spacers until I changed out the rear end to one that is the same width as a 4th gen 10 bolt.
