I bought a pair of license plate frames, and later realized I'm not sure how to fit them on the car. On the rear, there's the metal lip on the bottom that holds the license plate. That's definitely in the way of a license plate frame.

For the front, I bought the license plate bracket from the dealer, but that also holds the license plate in place with little to no slack. So how would I go about putting my new aftermarket license plate frames on that bracket?

I wouldn't mind trimming the bottom of the rear plate bracket with a grinder, but rather not do anything to the front.

Anyone else put aftermarket license plate frames on their car?
