Full detail today
Being that this is the detailing section, I thought I'd share what I did with the car today.
I started out this morning with a Lake Country blue compound pad on the Porter Cable and some Wolfgang Uber Compound 3.0. I went over the entire car, compounding any and all swirls out! I then used a Lake Country white CCS pad and some 3M Perfect It Polishing Pad Glaze and again did the entire car. It was an absolute mess after all of this, so I needed to wash it. A quick wash and dry and then it was time for some wax/polish. I decided to use the Meguiar's NXT 2.0 Tech Wax and finish the car. What a shine!!! Check out the reflection in the hood.

All of this was because i met with the Autogeek.net staff on Friday and was invited to a car show in March at their Stuart, Florida office. I also met with Meguiar's Friday and picked up some tips and techniques on perfecting the finish.

Very nice, It does make a mess. When I wet sanded and had to buff my car the polish was everywhere..
What Speed did you run the buffer... I know I use a Rotary cotton stlye pad at higher speed and then switch to foam pad at low speed with the finishing compound. My buffer is digital and can adjust the speed. Set it and go

The Porter Cable is a dual action machine and I ran it at full speed (#6). I didn't need the power to remove wet sanding marks, so I didn't use my Flex rotary buffer. I did use that on my neighbors after we wet sanded his car. With that, I used a 3M wool pad to cut and a 3M waffle foam pad with the 3M Polishing Pad Glaze. I ran the buffer at about 2000 rpm. His car came out looking fantastic also. His car is an '89 IROC-Z.

Im a big fan of the NXT 2.0 wax. Love the stuff! I used to use it on my 87 until I painted it rat rod black. But will use it on my new truck and when I paint the 87 a dark charcoal metallic gloss.
I dont understand all the buffing terminology lol but appreciate the good work!

Re: Full detail today
I would get full pics, but I don't think they would look any different then pics I've already posted since the swirls marks were minimal. I think the closeup posted in #1 shows the detail I was trying to show.
Also, thanks for the compliments.
