Aluminum Wheel Restoration
Hi everyone:
Has anyone out there had their 16 x 8 wheels CNC remachined and refinished?
I'm looking to get this done to my '88 IROC wheels, but quite nervous that I'll get a "hack" job. I see some "remanufactured" wheels on ebay, but sellers wont send me pics of actual wheels I'd be getting. I once saw a set of remachined wheels a few years ago, but there was chipping where the tool would begin to cut into each of the 5 spokes. And the machining finish didnt look even..there was a band somewhere in the middle from a different speed/feed from rest of the wheel. Machining aside, also concerned about paint quality and color matching in all the recessed areas.
If anyone has gone down this road and can share their experiences, I'd be eternally grateful
