I had 3 bulbs out in my third brake light. I decided to take it out and replace the bulbs. There were 20w in there and I know there should only be 10w. the first pic is the housing as it came out. I have replaced all my tail light bulbs with LED chipsets and wanted to use LED in the brake kight. After buying ones that did not fit the hole, I found these, second pick, on Amazon. A 6 pack for $15 so you get a spare. As you can see I had my hand on them for 30 sec or so and did not get hot. I work in a graphic shop and had a idea. I printed a decal on clear material and applied it over the light face, 4th pic. I made the black a little larger so it could wrap around the outside edge of the light. Put it back together and wella! The glow around it is the black as it is translucent letting some light through. I know it is the wrong logo, I had this one and really did not think it would look so good!

I do want to change it. I think most won't know it is the 5th gen logo as they look similar but I do want to replace it. I think I am also going to print red in the word camaro so it will look red again as my red lens is faded from the years.

 

This is the third brake light on my '91 GTA. It was hard to get a good photo, but you get the idea.
